are can I just go ahead and start a poety Thread in off Topic...or General?? what is the difference between Off-Topic and General I say get rid of General and we can make it a Poetry Section????? I believe people would actually look forwrd to that

I think this can be treated in the litterature section, no?
I'm not against a poetry section as such, but I think it's best not to start too many different sections.
In the jazz section we speak about every one from Jelly Roll Morton to John Zorn and beyond.
We could split the thing up in classic jazz (pre-bop), bop, post-bop and maybe add avant-garde or even smooth jazz ( ), but it works out fine keeping it all in one section. I think.

Oh I see...But Literary is Books and Novel and poetry is different I think ah Welll

i think poetry should be included in the literature section.

poetry is from books mostly.
it is reading and reciting.

too many more sections will make it messy and hard to keep track of everything
otherwise, would you want a limerick section or a lyrics section?

I feel that Blue Soul Jazz and funk can be all one catagorie.....And what is the difference between Off-topic and Genersal Just have an off-topic and There that clears up the Too many Sections problem

"General" is for music topics not otherwise listed.

"Off topic," since this is a music and arts forum, is probably supposed to be both non-music and non-arts, but I suppose it's also the only place for arts topics not otherwise listed (like sculpture, or example).

Andy is right. "Literature" covers poetry.
