Erratic ATU connectivity after site maintenance

Whenever I haven't been able to visit the forum, I come back and try about a minute later and it works.

yes i would say that the problem is becoming worse.
often now, i find it hard to get into the site and it seems the maintainance sign is up more often also.

trying again later usually fixes it.
either it is a heavy load problem or it is nature.

Im about to head out to work, so can't do anything at the moment. We will probably have to start a thread in that help forum that helped us out last time.

If the capacity of the ATU site needs expanding, won't it cost money? If so, I dunno what Frances & Stells think about that...

If we're at the stage, mostly likely ATU will just grind to a halt. But let's find out what New Delhi has to say before concluding that.

we might have to cut back on the photos, put in links to them instead.
not as much fun but more IT economical.

and that would be a shame because some of the photos that eddie and isn post are beautiful.
and even stans dynamic duos are interesting.

wait to see what the advice is!!!

i certainly wouldn't want to see ATU stopped, i think it is a wonderful place, and it is reasonably relaxing.

i wouldn't want to be the one who has the job of cutting back.

and would the amount of sections really make much a difference anyway?
it hasn't caused any trouble in the past.

or perhaps, do like others sites (successfully) do, and put a size restriction on photos.

I'm not really an expert on these matters but it doesn't seem to be a bandwidth problem for this site. It isn't directly related to 'Across the Universe'. It seems to be forummotion problem.

I don't think we have to worry about the pics. The pics are all hosted by other sites elsewhere on the internet. The IMG function opens them automatically, but they aren't stored here. You can tell that because when the host sites stop hosting them, they no longer open here.

Couldn't access the ATU site at all today around 8pm Tuesday 13th October.
