As you all know, me and Frances have been gone for a while. We're at college, we don't have good internet at the place we're staying at, either the time to come regularly to our forum.
I want to make it clear, that we once asked all of you a simple question: who wants to be admin. That includes the job of changing sections, changing whatever you want, if you ask us properly and if we agree with your ideas.
We aren't internet pros, so we don't f* know how to solve the forum's problems. Sorry about that, there is absolutely nothing I can do, except trying to create a ATU II.
And no, the name won't be changed. Sorry about that.
I wasn't going to react to some stupid posts and thing that some users write, but today some people could really annoy me.
Well, about the forum, I'll se what I can do in the next few days!

PS: I have received some complaints about some users, so I ask you all to be more moderate about your behavior towards the other users.

Um ... I have absolutely nothing against you, Stellar, but I find your post unnecessarily patronizing.

Most of the users on this board are (ex-)members of another message board called Expecting Rain. About a month of three ago - when this place was basically reduced to Pinhedz + the 2 people that regularly read his posts - there was some turmoil over at Expecting Rain. This was mainly cause by a dispute between Uzi and one of Expecting Rain's moderators.

During the many discussions that followed upon the banning of Uzi from expecting rain, the moderators of that place started to point to this site as a possible alternative for al those who were unhappy with Expecting Rain's policies.
Well, not really an alternative, expecting rain members were actively and repeatedly encouraged to come over here to bitch, curse and whine.

This dubious promotion of ATU lead to a significant increase in members and activity on this board. Up until that point, the activity had been very low to almost non-existant. Whatever technical issues the board was having were pretty irrelevant. Nobody was using it intensly anymore anyway - expect maybe for our dearly beloved wiseman , Pinhedz.

With the increase of members, people started to complain more often about the lack of some technical issues - editing, PM'ing and such.
Admin Pillow and LaRue have always replied kindly that they weren't able to solve some of these problems - either because they lacked authoritisation of simply because they didn't know how to solve them.

Since then a lot of things have actually been dealt with! Most of the technical issues are gone, the board is more user-friendly now than a few weeks ago.

Admin Pillow & LaRue have mentioned occassionaly that neither you nor Frances were visiting this board anymore - not to insult the both of you, just to explain that they couldn't ask for your assistance either. Some jokes probably followed, but I can't remember reading anything really vile.

As for members complaining: I think we're all pretty kind to each other.
A lot of the 'fights' you might find on the board are just a silly attempt at cyber-fun. Members might be fighting each other harshly in thread A and be best friends in threads B - G.
A lot of the newcomers to our board explicitly praised the very loose atmosphere between members.

2. All frequent ATU-users have always defended it as a nice place for intelligent, funny and relaxed people over @ Expecting Rain. We will never accept this place to become a 'talk behind the back' room of Expecting Rain. In fact, people who tend to discuss the events over there a bit too much over here are kindly asked to share some more interesting things with us.

Monsieur Le Neant speaks very wisely about the state of this forum and of the good people who inhabit it and post here. This Kartoon super Kat would not wish to see the essence of AatchOO changed in any way and has absolutely no complaints about how it is presently administered by Twoods/AdminPillow and LaRue, nor about the people who post here, not even the Uzi Bloodhound chappie, troublemaker and cut'n'paste artiste extraordinaire.

We've been managing along fine here. All our technical problems have been solved thanks, as Pinhedz said, to Sankat. Everyone who comes here regularly enjoys the rapport and the liberal attitude of the site. I think you'll find that we've accomodated people's needs really well and we've been having some good times here.

Some posts that appear to be insults are actually satirical depictions of people with bad tempers and bad manners--personal traits which are not found in the ATU population.

Hi stellar, welcome back! Nice to hear from you! Like others have said, I believe pretty much all of the technical problems with the forum have finally been sorted out.


Just a note to other users here:

I'm completely guessing this, as I have had no personal contact with Stellar, but I imagine that maybe her or Frances have recieved emails or PMs from certain posters here complaining about other users etc.... Maybe not regulars, just people who get a bit carried away. I can only imagine how annoying this must be. If I remember rightly, Stan and Nichens rather lame cyberfight (started on another forum) was enough to scare them (the original creators of this site) off a while ago in the first place. They just started a forum to discuss arts/music etc etc, instead they got a clan of people most of whom (cyber)knew each other, and some of whom brought their personal issues that weren't related to this site whatsoever. They don't know the ins or outs, so having to deal with such nonsense must have been a real pain in the butt as they would never know the full story (who does!?). Erm that's it, I forgot my point, but hopefully you get the idea.

i tend to agree with the above posts.
it is very nice here, relaxing without too much pressure.

i have been here for a while and even though i didn't post often, i lurked in the background.
pinz was very good at keeping the forum going when there was noone to talk to except the smallest amount of people

there is hardly any trouble here among the regular people and everything is going quite smoothly now that the technical bits have been fixed.
LaRue is great in her job and twood is great as a back up.

even most of the swearing has disappeared lately.
i think everyone is just getting settled and happy.
it is good to have somewhere to go that isn't too strict.

i don't see any reason to change the name or change anything else, it is all good at the moment so why take the risk of breakage.

there have been some issues with the neighbours at ER but that will settle eventually.
