I stopped listening to Wilco after the Sky Blue Sky album. I stopped listening to Dylan after together through life. I hope to never hear another song ever by either. I'm done with them.

Nobody in the World is worse than Bob Dylan. I mean, who could dream up a song as bad as this? You're right- nobody. Nobody is worse than Bob Dylan:

But it's alright, Ma, it's life, and life only.

Never quit on the legacy. Anyone is free to criticise Bob Dylan. Anyone is free to criticise Michaelangelo- and applaud their decorator.

I listened to Highway 61 Revisited today. It's still brilliant.

One contemporary of Paganini said:

"I've never heard anyone play better than Paganini, but I've also never heard anyone play worse."

I've always judged people I've known, and sometimes worked with, by how good they can be, not how bad. If someone is capable of delivering something that is brilliant, no matter that they also have their troughs, then that is how I remember them. Unfortunately, we are overwhelmingly governed by successful, dressed-up mediocrity, delivered to the overwhelming, mediocre consumers that are their lifeforce. Bob Dylan could stick out an Easter yodelling album, but quite frankly, his legacy is beyond tarnishing, now- despite his best efforts at insouciant besmirchment of same.
