| I was always under the impression he did the music for 'The Godfather'. But it seems that I was wrong. Can you confirm whether he did or not?! |

| I saw Henry Mancini on TV one year when he won an Oscar for a movie soundtrack. The awards were being presented by Andy Williams (remember Andy Williams--"In the summertime when all the trees and leaves are green and the redbird sings I'll be blue, cuz you don't want my love"?). For each presentation there was a silly dialogue with jokes and banter between Andy Williams and the award recipient, which they were obviously reading off a teleprompter. When Mancini came up to the stage to get his award, he told Andy he wasn't going to do the dialogue, but Andy started reading his lines anyway. So Mancini said "Excuse me Andy," and pushed him aside, grabbed his Oscar, said "Thank you very much" and left the stage. _________________ I don't do it for the money, babe. | Remember Andy Williams? He's never been away so far as the UK is concerned. It's said that he is the 'golden oldie' to top the Sunday afternoon bill at Glastonbury 2010. We luvs ole Andy, we does. | I don't mind Andy, but I'm surprised to learn he's still alive. I was talking about Branson Missouri on that other thread, and see Andy has a house there. He had a few good ones in the '60s, like "Can't Get Used To Losing You," and this one: _________________ I don't do it for the money, babe. I do it to entertain people.-- Susan Boyle
