I've never studied art, so I don't know what to say about pieces or movements other than to say, I like it, or I don't.

So, here are some paintings by Tim Caton. Am I to call these paintings Abstract and/or Modern or something else? What does a person with art knowledge see when they view these paintings? Am I suppose to know certain things about art of the artist to "get it"?

While I was looking to see whether the series 24 is on in Australia, I came across this TV show which started last month, and I've been watching it since the first episode. I really like it - I didn't actually watch TV before that. It has Joseph Fiennes which is the next best thing to Ralph Fiennes you can get

The premise is that everyone suffered blackouts in October 2009, and they all got a glimpse of their future. A rogue FBI team is investigating with Joseph Fiennes who had a vision ...

A stupid film that takes itself quite seriously. It's always on tv over here so I've seen it a good 5 ot 6 times now! Despite being very silly, I find the film nearly always watchable! I presume the interest comes from all the chat about real-life serial killers and such.

'Batman Forver' is good(ish), although this is when it started to go seriously downhill for Batman. The Burton era was over, and ...

However, that doesn't beat Chicago, where the term was applied to music in 1915. And while many of the Windy City's early jazz musicians hailed from New Orleans, Chicago likely borrowed the word ...

HG Wells

Everyone knows the Orson Welles/War of the Worlds radio broadcast story, but how many have read other works by this pacifist/socialist writer? I suspect he's now best known as providing the source material for screen/TV adaptations.

The Invisible Man

The Island of Dr Moreau

The Time Machine

The First Men in the Moon

The History of Mr Polly
