The word "germ" comes from the Latin word for seed. Most "germs" are actually helpful, with only a relative handful capable of producing disease. Disease causing germs (pathogens) include some spores, prions, bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Agents that can kill or slow down the growth of some of these harmful germs include sunlight, (UVrays), cold, heat, (steam under pressure and dry heat), and chemical agents. When speaking about chemical agents, there are four ...

Janis, teach me to be like the sun, to burn like a flame,

Janis, teach me to throw away all my love for nothing,

Janis, teach me to smile like a bonfire out of control,

Janis, teach me to be no better than anyone else, maybe even worse,

Janis, teach me to talk without using any words,

Hey-uh, ee-hee yey, eeee....heeeyy-ee-huh...

The song is often interpreted as a love ballad, a plea of one lover to the other not to leave him or her.

Brel's own vision of the song was distinctly less romantic, he called it his epic of cowardice.

In the final phrases the narrator begs for the partner not to leave him, even going as far as saying ...

It was hard not to compare the gig to Dylan. I mean, the guy is 74 and is another famous singer-songwriter. But the sound/mix was excellent. I could also hear every single word Cohen sang... Oh and Cohen COULD sing... Oh and he played for about 3 hours... Oh and they used a really cool organ that sounded amazing, nothing like a carnival organ... Oh and...
During the Soviet era, there was a type of performer known as a “bard.” It means a poet with a guitar. Their songs were more about the words than the music—like Woody Guthrie’s “talking blues” songs. And they didn’t come up with a lot of original tunes—they’d use the same song formats over and over again. Their performances were almost like poetry recitals with guitar accompaniment.

The most famous Soviet bard was Bulat Okudzhava. Here’s one of his lyrics:
