In the 1920s, a New York record company sent Ralph Peer to New Orleans to find some jazz bands. After a few weeks of searching, he sent a twitter back to his boss with bad news: NO JAZZ BANDS IN NEW ORLEANS.

People think he just didn't know where to look, but the truth is the town had been cleaned up--all the fun people had been run out:
