The Stranger by Albert Camus.
The Surgeon of Crowthorne by Simon Winchester
The Bible - A lot of crazy cats. - i didnt finish this one!
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Five People You Meet in Heaven - Mitch Alborn

I'm currently reading 'War and Peace'. I am enjoying it, but I really am not sure how long I'm gonna stick with it!

Anyway, if you have read any of the above, let me know what you think. I'm on a good run at the moment, as I enjoyed ALL of them!

I enjoyed "The stranger" very much - have you read "The myth of Sisyphus"?
I enjoyed that one even more.

I also enjoyed the Bible - a mixed bag, but it contains lots of great passages.

I'm not too fond of Tolstoy so I never finished "War & peace". Good luck, tho'!

I've just realised the title of this thread is misleading... I have NOT read these books over the last month... more like 5 months!

Anyway, no I have not read The myth of Sisyphu. Might have to give it a go.

The next book I'm planning on reading is called 'The Last Ride' by Thomas Eidson. It was adapated into a movie, called 'The Missing' - which I have no plans to see.
I ordered the book off the internet, and when it arrived I was a bit gutted (in a geeky sort of way) as it had Kate Blanchett and Tommy Lee Jones on the front cover! I hate it when they put pics from the move on the front of a book! To make it worse, they changed the title too!! AHHHHHH

I have also bought Greil Marcus's 'Invisible Republic: Bob Dylan's Basement Tapes'. Haven't read it yet.

Well, at least you added "or so...". But still you managed to derail your own thread in the title Shocked

You should read both of them and report back here. I enjoyed them quite a lot.

I enjoyed that one even more.

This is the book that explains why we don't kill ourselves. I got stuck in the middle for about a year,
trying to get through 8 pages in the middle. I think I finally understood it. Smile

I've never ever ever read The Bible. Ever. I don't even think we have one.

Oh wait, we do. i just had a look downstairs and there was one on the bookshelf. It smells and is falling apart and tucked away inside of it is a rather disturbing picture of me being born Shocked Embarassed

A friend of mine just gave me Richard Brautigan's 'Hawkline Monster'.
Don't know if it's worth reading so far - the first 20 pages or so are rather mediocre.
Did anybody read it?
