| | Quote: | Hmmm...So, other numbers can conspire to prove the 'perfection' of a nother number? That is completely different than where my mind was.
|
It was an ancient Greek thing. If that's where your mind is, then you've got problems on my scale.
Sort of like the "perfection" [or not] of a Significant Other: if s/he is unattainable/virtual, other humans (=friends, of a sort) can easily conspire to declare s/he = perfect. If s/he is actual, "others" will be sure to conspire to disprove hir perfection.
No comments on where your mind might have been, except that people frequently use the perfectly pinheded word "conspire" as though it were an evil thing. |

| My head is always where it is. But on the numbers front: A 'perfect' number is just mathematicians slang. It is in no way meant to cast aspersions on other numbers and what may or may not be their standing in the perfection contest. As for any 'signifigant other', they are never perfect. And there is nothing wrong with 'conspire'. One of the Truths is that History has conspired to bring us here, in this time and moment and place. _________________ This isn't the 'so called' Warbleshinny Mastadon. Over

| My manager is a cunt. I've spent £175 buying plants from the market stalls on Colombia Road for this year's "Underground in Bloom" competition. Each station competition entry receives a basic £250 grant but he won't reimburse me for the money I've spent because these stall-holders don't supply receipts. And yet he'll take all the credit if we win a prize. Cunt. Maybe I should invest in some weedkiller? If those plants belong to me- I've paid for them- I can do what I like with them, right? I'm only kidding, of course. I would never do anything like that. But I do feel like Kaiser Soze in The Usual Suspects at the moment. I'm plotting an alternative means of vengeance, though. A formal grievance, I think. |

| That is stupid. So he knows - cos the bleedin' flowers are in situ - that you've spent a load of your own money. But because market traders don't do receipts, he won't reimburse you? Presumably he has the grant money in his possession? So waht's he going to do with the grant if he doesn't reimburse you? This really is stupid. |

| I had a similar problem , Eddie, with my landlord years ago. I planted alot of of flowers around his property then watched while he took credit for it. On top of it, I never saw a cent back...In fact, he stiffed me on the security deposit when I moved out..after presssuring me to move saying his son needed the apartment....Too bad the movers packed his beautiful antique bookself to my new diigs by accident. Serves him right for being a bastard |

| I'm not pissed off, today. But I do get the aching feeling that I haven't pissed anyone else off, today. I have contemplated returning to the "Political World" of ER. I just haven't given much thought to a user name yet, although I would certainly be open to suggestions. I'm just not yet sure the time is right for a return. P14, are you back? |
