| I've always had a soft spot for St Augustine: "Lord, make me chaste- but not yet!" _________________ The salmon-falls, the mackerel-crowded seas

| I wrote a paper several years ago for a religion course about Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton (I got an A ). She was a very fasinating woman who established the first free school for poor children in America. And she was also the first Native-born U.S. citizen to be canonized. |

| Good choices, both. I've always had a soft spot for St Francis, myself - the last chance for the medieval church to swing Buddhist before it got clanging Gothic, oh well. He was a sweet guy.... |

| I don't have a favourite saint, but I was talking to my old headmistress from the Ursuline Convent on the phone (Torin is going to an Ursuline school next year)......she suggested I pray to St Angela the founder of the order.....from the 16th Century..... recently when Torin was worried about vampires, I told him that an angel looks over us (him and me).....because I pray so much.....it was more in desperation than reality because he was fretting.....then I told him the angel is St Angela...... recently I've been telling him that there is nothing to fear except fear itself, and if you're not scared of vampires and witches, they can't get you...... but, I've come to develop a soft spot for St Angela anyway......my mother went to an Ursuline school in Sligo, so it seems to be in the family...... I also like my patron saint, St Catherine (of the Catherine wheel)...... _________________ Your builders outdo your destroyers - Isaiah 49 - 17

| One of the most practical saints is St Fiacre, the patron saint of both gardening AND piles. St Fiacre. Oh, he's also the patron saint of cab drivers. _________________ The salmon-falls, the mackerel-crowded seas
