hi felix,
we have buildings and waterfalls in the country and mountains etc but nothing compared to the magnificent structures and the landscapes in some of these photos.
i have never even seen snow let alone photographed it.
the good thing is that i am able to enjoy these photos and see what there is in other countries.

there would be nice things in other parts of this country but not in my area. our museums are ugly structures surrounded by concrete as is our galleries and conference halls.. our railways are being neglected by the government. our local government demolishes heritage buildings in the name of progress and they reclaim farm land to build dams. (which is probably necessary) but this is one of the finest valleys around and they want to flood it.
we have some beautiful old houses with large verandahs but they are becoming rare in favour of besser blocks units. this area is becoming crowded and they are reducing house block sizes.

who knows maybe it is the photograher that brings out the best in the subject and i am not looking at my city as a photographic subject. Rolling Eyes

i love my home.

The London snow scene posted by P14, it should be noted, records a very rare occurrence - I think I remember that snow storm. But wow! that scene was captured in all its magicality.

It's a smashing photograph.

But the event itself was a nightmare on the London Underground network.

Now I know why I remember it! Wasn't that the day London Buses ceased to operate? And wasn't it also the first time ever, including the Blitz, Winter 1947 and Winter 1963, that this had happened? Elfin safety I believe was cited as the reason?

(Apolollogies for the detour. Eddie dunnit.)

Correct on all counts. An absolute effing nightmare of a day at work.

i have found a website with hundreds of photos from where i live and nearby.
excellant. although we don't have snow here, that is down south.

the skyline of my city, i live in the suburbs. on the other side of those buildings
where i would like to live
the city hall in town, it is dwarfed by the large buildings now
out west
where the rainforest meets the reef in nth qld.

there are so many more, i couldn't post them all but i will find some that i like and show them.
