My name's Sarah, I'm 22 and I'm French!
I've been searching for forums like this in order to improve my english. I really need it. And friends around me are not motivated to do the same things. So before travellong to USA or England (one of my dreams), I would like to improve my english. I've been stuyding english litterature and civilisation two years when I was at University and I gave up. I don't want to let my learning slip away. I hope I'll enjoy being here.

No problem, Sarah. Minor point: most of us capitalize English, just as you do French. But that's a minor point, really. Your English is most fluent - John (I'm 70 years old, too old for anybody to pay much attention to me - that makes life fun for me, I can say just about anything and get away with it. But this forum is the kind of place where other people do that too, so I don't know if it's the best place in the world to learn good English, we're so filled with profanity around here.... )

i am in australia so we come from everywhere to be here.

this is an okay place.
it is reasonably relaxing and fairly laid back.

most importantly though is that there doesn't seem to be any arguments, which is good because we have that kind of stuff in the real world, we don't need it in our on-line world.

While I'm fairly certain that your English skills will probably detiorate rather than improve the longer you stay here, it is nice of you to drop in just the same. Most people who post here use the English/American language in a conversationally idiosyncratic way.

Well I guess it could be the place to get used to Shakesperian language! No arguments here? Cool, I guess that all the forums should be like that. Being respectuous of each other's point of view and respect everyone shouldn't be a problem, people should understand it!

What Zero said nothwithstanding, there is some very good English spoken here. However, there is also some English that even trained linguists are unable to decipher. You probably will be able to make out which is which, and doing so could be a useful exercise.
