I love the Rolling Stones. It's just such a bloody shame that Mick Jagger makes me feel sick in a Rod Stewarty kind of way.

I went on a binge last year and bought all the original LPs in mono and in both US and UK pressings from the first up through the last UK mono release, Let It Bleed. I like all the stuff that comes later but I'll usually stick to those. Although, "Waiting for a Friend" off Tattoo You is one of the best tracks of all.

Is that your idea of a binge? Christ Stan, get your arse away from your computer and head towards the closest possible bar... NOW! |

I think Soup Head Goat is a helluva underrated album. Maybe my favorite. They're pretty boring after that one.

Favourite Stones tune? A rather predictable choice, but I'm going to have to go for 'Sypmathy for the Devil'. It's incredible.

Well... there's "Satisfation." And then there's all the rest.

Mick prancing about and gesticulating gets pretty irritating. I prefer them audio only. No visual. But then would miss Keith and his funky guitar playing.
I do, however, seem to tire of their songs before they are over. The first 30 seconds of their songs are absolutely amazing. They really know how to start a song. |

I sort of lost interest after Some Girls and haven't listened to much of what comes after that. But, like The Beatles or Dylan, so much of their material is buried deep in my brain that I don't have to hear it all the time.

Let it Bleed was on almost-continuous loop at my second wedding reception - alternating with an 8-track of Lawrence Welk waltzes for the old folks, who loved the choice. Hell with a live band doing second-rate covers of either brand of classic music.

A skinny white arm and a pair of rubber-lips. In their day, they were the best.
