She did blues before she was sanctified, and after she saw the light she kept on doing blues, but this blues is for the greater glory of The Lord.

Sister Rosetta played her guitar and sang the hell out of something or other blues-ish on a disused railway station just outside Manchester in 1965. I'll try and find the youtube if it exists. It was raining.

Was I there? No. But I did see the Blues & Gospel Caravan tour, of which this TV show was a spinoff, in London in - well, 1963 of course. bounce

The chorus is 8-bar blues (same format at "How Long Blues").

And 8-bar blues is like 16-bar blues with the first 8 bars missing. geek
